Hi there,
I've just checked out the simple download module and tried to install it on a fresh DNN 441 installation. It fails to install with the error:
Resource Upload Logs Return StartJob Starting Installation StartJob Reading files Failure ExceptionICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.ZipException: Wrong Local header signature: 0x88B1F at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipInputStream.GetNextEntry() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.ReadZipStream() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install() Any ideas are appreciatedRob

I did download it a few times originally, but I'll try again now.
Same thing.. it unzips fine, just won't install. There's just a single file in the zip.. it's named SimpleDownload_03.00.01 - nothing else is in there.
Is that correct?

Can you check the file on your site? I've downloaded it time and again and it looks pretty dubious to me. Should it only contain one single file? I've probably installed a thousand modules over the years and not seen one before that was only a single file.

That's strange because I tried again and the file looks ok to me. I downloaded it , opened and unzipped without any problem.
I've sent you the file by mail, please take a look and let me know, but noone has ever complained about this file not being correct.

I found it in the spam bin at gmail where I route all my mail through.. then when it was transfered to Outlook, it also ended up in the span bin in that... crazy stuff!
I've had a quick look and the one you sent looks fine.. it has all the right sort of files in it. I'll email the one back that I keep downloading. I'm aware there are problem with downloads with modules being fussy about whether you click on the name or the icon and such. I'll see if I can make it happen again right now.

Ok, yes I've tried it again and I can get a good file and a bad file every time.
If I click on the little floppy disk icon, I get a zip containing just one file. If I click on the words instead, I get a complete PA.
I've read about this issue in the main DNN forums, but this is the first time I've seen it happen.

There's definitely a difference between the filename and the icon links. I've tried using it with an mp3 on my site and just hovering on the links and icons shows up differing URLs for the same file.
It does work with the mp3 off both the title and the floppy disk icon, but in one case it asks to save or open and in the other case it opens without asking.

I get the same type of error/faulty download file.
If I click the diskette icon, I get a file named "SimpleDownload_03.00.01.zip" in which a file is included with the name "SimpleDownload_03.00.01". If I unzip this file rename the resulting file to "SimpleDownload_03.00.01.zip" (size 11.797), it is the PA install.
If I click the name (link), I get a file with the name "SimpleDownload 03.00.01.zip" of size 11.797 that is the PA install.
I short: disc icon click goes wrong, filename URL click gives a good PA.
Can this be due to .zip compression on your DNN installation?
