Printing IMC-based modules
Posted: 14 Mar 07 5:00 PM
Hi,

I have a page with multiple modules (9) in the various panes. All modules are displayed/hidden based on information passed through Inter-Module Communication or IMC.

This poses a bit of a problem using your skins. They DO work as I've tested with a few hard-coded ItemID in the code but we know I cannot be doing that, I just needed to confirm the skins were working.

Questions:
If I normally pass an ItemID to a module for it to retrieve and display its data, how do you propose I pass an ItemID to the module now contained in the printable skin?
The modules show up on the page but will not show in the printable skin as the ItemID is not being passed through in the QueryString.
Should I store the ItemID in the Cache? Will that help? How can I include the ItemID in the QueryString invoking the PrintableSkin?

Thanks,

Lindsay

In the latest version of the sko I included support for querystring parameters, so if your page has been called with params, the printing page will retain them, so you should be able to reload them in the same status.
